The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted thirty (30) police officers for their exemplary performance in intelligence-led and frontline operations that led to the interception of 2,600 rounds of AK-47 ammunition and the dismantling of a robbery syndicate in parts of the Ashanti Region.

The promotions, effected on Sunday, January 5, 2025, recognize the outstanding professionalism, vigilance, and dedication displayed by the officers during high-risk operations at the Kantanso Asankare Police Barrier and along the Antoakrom–Manso Nkwanta stretch during the Christmas season.
Officers attached to the Kantanso Asankare Police Barrier played a critical role in intercepting a bus during a routine stop and search, which led to the discovery of two concealed containers holding 2,600 rounds of AK-47 ammunition. Further searches uncovered a bag hidden beneath the driver’s seat containing two bulletproof plates, a black crushed helmet, and a pair of long boots—items believed to be linked to planned criminal activity.

Those promoted in connection with the Kantanso Asankare operation include Chief Inspector Tibim Acheampong Solomon, Inspector Sarfo Adu Daniel, General Lance Corporal Saeed Frimpong (No. 58311), General Constable Sremsei Simon (No. 621467), Policewoman Constable Kissi Dorcas Serwaah (No. 15413), General Constable Arthur Emmanuel Nkrumah (No. 65450), General Constable Dennis Danquah (No. 65457), General Constable Philip Lawer Nyarko (No. 65503), General Constable Owusu Kenneth (No. 66427), and General Constable Christian Buaben Kwadzo Addo (No. 66841).
In addition, twenty officers from the Intelligence Units of the Ashanti and Ashanti South Regional Police Commands were promoted for their roles in coordinated intelligence-led operations at Manso Nkwanta, Antoakrom, and surrounding communities. These operations resulted in the recovery of firearms and ammunition, the disruption of an armed robbery syndicate, and the prevention of planned attacks on commuters during the festive period.
Commending the officers, the IGP, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), praised their courage, alertness, and commitment to duty, noting that their swift actions prevented dangerous weapons from falling into the hands of criminals.

Mr. Yohuno encouraged all personnel of the Ghana Police Service to continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, assuring them that the Police Administration remains committed to recognizing, appreciating, and rewarding hard work and exceptional service.
