The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two women in connection with the alleged assault of a 12-year-old girl at the La Roman JHS School area in Accra, following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother.

According to a press release issued by the Regional Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service on December 4, 2025, the incident was reported on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. The complainant reported to the police station with her daughter, who showed visible signs of assault, and alleged that three women attacked the child without provocation.

Police said statements were taken from the complainant, and a Police Medical Report Form was issued to the victim to facilitate medical examination.

Preliminary investigations revealed that earlier on the same day, the victim had an altercation with a seven-year-old boy, identified as Horm Giftan Mesopeh, who is related to the suspects. Following the incident, the suspects allegedly went to the victim’s residence, took her to their home, and assaulted her.

On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, the complainant assisted police in arresting two of the suspects, identified as Precious Giftan Mesopeh, aged 22, and Princess Giftan Mesopeh, aged 25. A third suspect, identified as Priscilla Novisila Wornyo, aged 49 and reported to be the mother of the two arrested women, was said to have travelled to the Volta Region.

The two arrested suspects have since been formally charged and remain in police custody, assisting with investigations. They are expected to be arraigned before court on Monday, January 5, 2026. Police say efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the third suspect.

The Accra Regional Police Command has cautioned the public against resorting to violence, particularly in matters involving children, and urged parents, guardians, and community members to use lawful means in resolving disputes and to promptly report incidents to the police.
